The Instrument The Dial dendro allows very precise measurements of tree stems over short periodes of time. The vernier of the dial-disk allows readings as 1/10mm. The Dial Dedro can register an increase in circumference of 80 mm, before it is necessary to reset the dial. The steel straps may be linked to gether to fit different diameters. Their ends are fastened to the Dial Dendro. The expansion of the stem causes a movement of the vernier,not change during the observation period.
