Combining a laser, ultrasound, and tilt sensor, VL-400 provides accurate
and reliable distance,height,
and angle measurements. Use the Laser or ultrasound alone as rangefinder
or in combination with the tilt sensor to measure heights and angles.to
achieve more accurate distance results at a shorter distances, even
thorugh thick vegetation, use the ultrasonic feature along with the
transponder.
Ultrasonic measurement provides results in meters or feet and allows
measurements to be obtained even when a clear line of sight to the
target is not available. The Laser Vertex also includes a reverse
prism function which has built-in prism factors of 10,20,and 40( English)
and .5, .1.0,and 2.0( Metric).
The laser function allows you to work without a transponder and take
measurements at longer iustances in metersor yards the laser features
8x magnification for precise aiming. When using the laser, the transponder
can be used as a visible reference point. Vertex Laser hyosometer
unit and
60 °transponder included.

Accurate,dependable tree
height measurements even in cold, dry climates!
•
Take up to on a single tree.
• No set distance required to obtain height.
• Shoots thorough undrbrush.
• Can use the 360° transponder to take plot measurements.
The Haglöf Vertex III hypsometer fits in your pocket and allows
measurement through thick vegetation. fasten the transponder to
the tree to be measured, look through the sight a nd aim the crosshairs
at the transponder.
The hypsometer displays three numbers - distance , angle and horizontal
distance to the
transponder. The Vertex III is easily calibrated and should be recalibarted
daily for best accuracy. The 60° transponder records measurements
only from in front of the transponder. The more versatile 360°
transponderallows you to walk 360° around the transponder and
receive accurate distance measurements for determining plot radius
at the push of a button.
