The Instrument is contained in a solid plastic casing (16) of pleasing design. Applications • Surveying • Forestry • Architecturre • Antenna installation • Power line construction • Agriculture • Mining etc. Measurements using BL-6 Altimeter Distance is determined first! The distance is needed to read measurements on the specific distance scale of the instrument (15,20.30,41m) BL-6 has two release buttons(1) and (2) and indicators. Now target the object. Low point 'b' The lowerpoint of the object is viewed through the eye piece (7). The lower button (2) is pressed and this releases the pendulum. When the pendulum is stable as shown by the yellow marked pendulum wheel, the button (3) is freed ; the indicator is fixed at point "b " Top point 'a' Now view the upper point. by pressing the upper button(1), the pendulum is free to move. When stable, the button (1) is reeased and the indicator arm is fixed at point 'a' Both values can be used to calculate actual height,taking the surveyors into account (see plate (15) for explanation). Control of Measurement accuracy The movements of the pendulum can be observed through the viewing tube(7),and control of mesurement accuracy. When the yellow and blackmarking of the pendulum wheel indicate that the pendulum has come to rest, the button is released and the indicator fixed.
